Emergency & Backup Power
Emergency and standby power systems are designed to provide an alternate source of power if the normal source of power, most often the serving utility, should fail. GTS Electrical assists with these power systems so that interruptions and downtime are avoided. GTS can help design and install Uninterruptible power systems (UPS), generators, inverters and data center power distribution units. In NYC where productivity is paramount, reliability of these types of systems is critical and good design practices are essential.
GTS can assist clients to benefit from Cogeneration, also known as combined heat and power (CHP). Cogen is a highly efficient process that generates electricity and heat simultaneously. By utilizing the exhaust energy from gas turbines, useful steam and/or hot water can be generated in a heat exchanger which can then be used in any number of applications, all with no additional fuel consumption. By using one fuel source to produce both heat and electricity simultaneously, cogeneration – or combined heat and power - is significantly more efficient and cost effective than traditional power generation. In addition to eliminating waste and increasing energy production efficiency, cogeneration solutions have many advantages.
